How students are selected

A selection panel comprising of two members of AEF, including the Chief Executive Officer and two representatives from the relevant university, is set up to determine the number of students to be awarded and to select the students. The panel will take past performance of the student, their family background and their financial situation, among other things, into consideration.

The universities

AEF currently has agreements with four prominent universities in China: Nanjing University, Sun Yat-sen (Zhongshen) University in Guangzhou, South China University of Technology in Guangzhou and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in Sichuan.

How our funds reach the students

After selecting the scholarship recipients, AEF will direct the funds to the relevant university, instructing the university to use the funds to cover the tuition fees of the scholarship students.

Progress reports

Annual progress reports will need to be produced by both the university and the scholarship recipients, which will need to detail scholarship use and performance of the students (including academic results and achievements in extra-curricular activities).

Student commitment

Students who are awarded with the scholarship must commit to making charitable donations upon graduation to other students with financial difficulties, in order to extend the reach of our efforts to help China’s youth in attaining higher education.
